Our Wide Whitewall Radial tires and Bias Ply are built differently than modern radials and have a few special instructions to make sure you get the best performance and quality out of your new tires.
Is there a particular way to mount your tires? We recommend Static balancing on all of our products. With Static balancing the weight to balance the tire out is all put on the inside of the tire as opposed to the weight being distributed on either side of the wheel. The reason we recommend Static Balancing is because of the nature and application of the tires. The white rubber does not have the same properties as the black rubber. When weights are put on the white wall side, they leave impressions in the white rubber that will never come out. Also, on collector vehicles, weights on the outside can look unsightly, and are some times very noticeable. If the tires are mounted on steel wheels, make sure they are balanced from the lugs instead of from the center hole. Aluminum wheels are normally mounted from the center hole because it is drilled out, giving it a perfect surface to mount from. On steel wheels the center holes are stamped, and are sometimes slightly off. If the center hole is used with steel wheels, the balance will be off and the tire will not perform at it's best.
