| Hot Rod Types - Definitions |

Definitions of the different hot rod styles.
Rat rod - a vehicle with non-critical parts removed, primer-like paints, and period correct parts from a conglomeration of different makes and models. T-Bucket - a Model T body, that is short, fenderless and open.
Resto-rod - A car that appears OE but has a modern engine and transmission. Street Machine - A post 1949 car, usually a two door body, big engine and lowered front end. Gasser - a drag racing car, with a modified closed body, can be 2 or 4 doors. Pro-street rod - a rod made to look like a drag race car. Sedan delivery - Truck body with 3 opening doors, two in front, one in rear.
Deuce - a nickname for a 1932 Ford roadster. High Boy - a stock body roadster with only the fenders and bumpers removed. Lead Sled - Another name for an early 50's style custom car which has had major body modifications. Originally done with hot lead. Now done with plastic fillers |
